V.P Academics Profile

Professor Dr. Altaf Mukati obtained his BE (Electronics Engineering) degree in 1981 from NED University with a CGPA of 3.96. The Ministry of Science and Technology Pakistan awarded him a scholarship in 1987 for the graduate degree program in Computer Engineering from Boston University USA. 

Dr. Mukati’s salient achievements in his 42 years of professional career are as follows:

• He has been associated as a faculty member with leading universities, such as Karachi University, Hamdard University, Bahria University, and SZABIST University, and has taught more than 10 thousand students.
• The Higher Education Commission Pakistan has awarded him the “Best University Teacher – 2010” award.
• Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) awarded Gold Medal and Excellence Award-2021 (Lifetime Achievement) at Aiwan-e-Sadr (Presidency) in Islamabad on 18th October 2022.
• He received Gold Medal and Star Laureate 2006 Award from South Asia Publications for his book “Fault Diagnosis and Testing of Digital Circuits,” published by HEC.
• He worked for 17 years at Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission and worked on two National Level Projects, such as HATF-II and BADR-B Satellite. 
• He has developed various policies and frameworks at the three universities he has been associated with. He has been a member of several National and International committees related to academics and research. He is a life member, convener, and expert of the Pakistan Engineering Council. He has authored four books and several research papers published in leading journals and has participated in several international conferences all across the world.
