About SZABIST University
SZABIST is a non-profit and Chartered Institute of Science and Technology, Established through Legislative Act of the Sindh Assembly (Sindh Act No. XI of 1995). SZABIST has been awarded the status of University in September 2023 through amendment in Sindh Act No. XIX of 2023.
At present, SZABIST University has campuses in Karachi, Islamabad, Larkana, Hyderabad, Dubai and Gharo.
Programs
SZABIST University Karachi offers forty-two programs in the disciplines of Management Sciences, Media Sciences, Social Sciences, Education, Biosciences, Biotechnology, Public Health, Computer Sciences, Mechatronic Engineering, Robotics and Artificial Intelligence. Its International Programs include LLB (University of London, UK) and BA (Hons.) in Business Studies in collaboration with Coventry University, UK.

Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan has ranked SZABIST University as one of the best business schools of Pakistan in their recent Quality-Based Ranking.
The Chartered Inspection and Evaluation Committee (CIEC) in their latest evaluation rated SZABIST University as an “Outstanding” institution by awarding it “6 Stars”, the highest ranking; SZABIST University has been ranked Six Stars continuously from 2008-2012. Mechatronic Engineering department has been rated as “World Class” and has been awarded “7 Stars”, whereas Departments of Management Sciences, Computing, Social Sciences, Media Sciences and Biosciences have been individually rated as “Outstanding”.

SZABIST University BS Accounting & Finance graduates can avail exemption of 9 papers (F1 to F9) in ACCA-UK qualification. BBA Program is also accredited by the ACCA-UK
Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP)
SZABIST University BS Accounting & Finance graduates will be able to claim 9 exemptions in ICAP Pakistan qualification. Moreover a (2.5 Year) BSAF option is available for CAF qualified ICAP students.
Coventry University, UK
Through this MoU, SZABIST University students enrolled in Bachelors of Arts in Business Studies (BABS) will be conferred Coventry University degree on completing two years of education at SZABIST University and one year at Coventry University, UK.
The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT), UK
SZABIST University has signed a MoA with CILT for introducing certification in logistics and transport. To attain this certification, a total of three mandatory courses will have to be completed.

Through this MoU SZABIST University and GSM will work on the field of research pertaining to Family planning and child health.

NOWPDP a Disability Inclusion Initiative and SZABIST University Karachi-BBA have joined hands for supporting initiatives for persons with disabilities in the province of Sindh. Both the parties will facilitate access to opportunities and services for persons with disabilities.
OPEN Organization of Pakistani Entrepreneurs of North America
SZABIST University and OPEN Karachi Chapter will jointly establish student chapter to promote entrepreneurship and innovation among Pakistani youth by providing trainings, conducting workshops and seminars.
Orange Tree Foundation OTF, Pakistan
SZABIST University collaborated with Orange Tree Foundation for providing scholarships for the students of SZABIST University. This MoU ensures equitable opportunities of education for all the needy yet bright students. To bring them at par of mainstreaming through creating a critical mass of talented youth for the development of society.
Sindh Police Shaheed Scholarship
The MoU will enable children of Shaheed Police Officers of Sindh to study at SZABIST University on scholarship. The MoU will be applicable to the Police employees who embraced SHAHADAT while performing their duty within the jurisdiction of the Sindh province.
Tabba Kidney Institute
SZABIST University and Tabba Kidney Institute will participate in collaborative research and in capacity building activities and both will conduct academic research to get further insights into the areas of Urology. Students of Bachelor of Science in Public Health (BSPH) will get the opportunity of certificate-based volunteer work in TKI.
The Citizen Foundation, TCF Pakistan
As part of social responsibility, SZABIST University and TCF have collaborated to facilitate TCF students with admission fee waiver, and scholarship opportunities to study in any of SZABIST University degree programs.
National Clearing Company of Pakistan Limited (NCCPL)
SZABIST University and NCCPL commit to organize awareness sessions, recruit talented students and explore possibilities in relation to the development of Capital Market through Investor Education, Curriculum Development, and Jointly Holding of Conference/ Seminar on Capital Markets.
Pathfinder
SZABIST University and Pathfinder aim to collaborate, develop and launch innovation startups, learning hubs on ideas such as Reproductive health, Family Planning, Climate change and it’s Impact on women. Students of Life Sciences and Social Sciences will be working to provide solutions for the above stated issues.
Health Services Academy
The potential areas of collaboration between both parties are; Internships and practicum for the MSPH students, Joint/Mutual Research programs, collaboration for funded Projects, Conferences, Seminars, Certificate and diploma programs, On-the-job research training programs, and Faculty development program.
Afzaal Memorial Thalassemia Foundation (AMTF)
SZABIST University BABS Program will help the AMTF to conduct Blood Drives annually, for which all the resources will be arranged by AMTF. The Blood collected through Blood Drive will be used for the treatment of Thalassemia Patients.
Indus Hospital & Health Network (IHHN)
Through this MoU SZABIST University and IHHN will make joint efforts to promote initiatives that aim to foster a sense of Social Responsibility among the students.
The Hunar Foundation (THF)
An understanding is developed with The Hunar Foundation (THF) to be a CSR Partner for the BS Entrepreneurship Program. SZABIST University BS Entrepreneurship Program students will facilitate THF in raising funds through fund-raising activities. THF may assign capstone projects to SZABIST University Faculty of Management Science students in the areas of marketing, policy matters, research, and any other area. THF will participate in Job Fairs and Recruitment Drives of SZABIST University.
GETZ Pharma & BIDE
GETZ Pharma, BIDE, and SZABIST University joined hands to foster a culture of collaboration to improve healthcare indicators in Pakistan. It will allow experienced physicians, researchers, and students at BIDE and SZABIST University in scientific research to generate valuable insights into the areas of NDCs, particularly Diabetes. The three patrons will also engage in activities centered on the capacity building of healthcare providers.

FPCCI will effectively and professionally support SZABIST University in its efforts to establish academic and research systems for addressing the challenges of national industry in terms of existing, emerging and future technologies.

This impactful partnership brings together STEDA and SZABIST’s Faculty of Education & Social Sciences with a shared commitment to uplift the quality of education through professional development training for teachers and head teachers across Sindh
Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi
Through this partnership, both institutions will collaborate under the Youth Ambassador Program (YAP) to promote arts and cultural engagement, offer skill-building workshops and training opportunities, facilitate student participation in national and international cultural events, and provide mentorship, scholarships, and platforms for creative expression and growth.
National Commission for Human Rights
This Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is established between SZABIST University and The National Commission for Human Rights (NCHR) to foster collaboration in promoting human rights education and professional development for SZABIST students.

MoU between Meezan Bank and SZABIST University, Karachi. This partnership marks a significant step in fostering faculty development in Islamic Finance and enhancing collaboration between academia and industry.
EDUFI Financial Services Private Limited
SZABIST University has partnered with EDUFI Financial Services for education financing through the “Study Now, Pay Later” model. Through this MoU, eligible students and their families gain seamless access to flexible, affordable loans, empowering them to pursue their academic dreams without financial constraints.
Scholarship and Financial Assistance
Approximately 80 percent of SZABIST University students are benefitting from some sort of financial assistance each year. SZABIST University offers a wide range of scholarships to its students, which include SZABIST University Need-Based, SZABIST Merit-Based, Sindh Endowment Fund, Balochistan Endowment Fund, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Endowment Fund, HEC-USAID Merit and Need -Based, National Information and Communication Technology, Ihsan Trust’s Qarz-e-Hasna Bank Facility, and Various Community/ Sponsored Scholarships.
Research and Development
SZABIST has various research centers: SZABIST University Center for Biosciences Research (SCBR), Sustainable Development Research Center (SDRC), and the Sindh Abhyas Academy (SAA), a regional studies center dedicated to research on myriad aspects of Sindh. SZABIST University strongly encourages research activity. It publishes a Journal of Independent Studies and Research (JISR) on Management Sciences and Computing. It hosts two research conferences (one national and one international) on Management Sciences, Social Sciences and Computing every year.
SZABIST University Student Council (SSC)
SSC oversees the functioning of all societies and clubs. Not only this, but also students come together in times of national crises and disasters and are actively involved with raising funds for various causes (for example, flood relief drives).
Student Career Services & Alumni Relations
The Student Career Services & Alumni Relations (SCSAR) Departmentat SZABIST University contributes towards developing business, social, legal, media, life sciences, information technology and engineering graduates, geared towards becoming the leaders of tomorrow. The department facilitates SZABIST University students and alumni in all their academic and professional ventures to help them climb the ladder of career success.
SCSAR facilitates graduates in their quest for viable career options. It ensures students have timely access to information on latest jobs and internship opportunities, acting as a liaison between them and the corporate world by inviting the most coveted companies for on-campus recruitment drives, employer-branding sessions, and the annual ‘Career Fair’. SCSAR publishes the annual ‘Graduate Directory’ in order to enhance students’ networking, and provides coaching enabling them to shine in employee assessments including job interviews.
SCSAR helps SZABIST University alumni maintain their link with their alma mater, providing a platform to facilitate and streamline interaction amongst SZABIST University recent and past graduates by building mutually beneficial networks. The latest initiative in this regard is the launch of an alumni association, the SZABIST University Alumni Global Association (SAGA).
