SZABIST University in collaboration with the Health Department of the Government of Sindh and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) successfully completed a three-day workshop on “The Sindh Healthcare Service Providers and Facilities (Prevention of Violence and Damage to Property) Act, 2021,” alongside the “Provincial Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Act, 2018” from 29th to 31st August 2023. We are honoured to have the collective efforts of visionary minds, policymakers, esteemed healthcare professionals, and support staff came together to shine a light on the pivotal legislation that shapes healthcare safety and security.
Day 01:
The workshop set the stage with a powerful start. Collaborators from SZABIST University, the Health Department of Sindh, and the ICRC united their strengths to delve into the “Sindh Health Service Providers and Facilities (Prevention of Violence and Damage to Property) Act, 2021,” and the “Provincial Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Act, 2018.” The discussions were elevated by the insights of prominent figures, fostering an environment of profound learning.
Day 02:
The second day specifically involved doctors and paramedic staff, their expertise and contributions magnified the significance of the workshop. The two Acts took center stage once again, becoming a canvas upon which ideas and solutions were painted.
Day 03:
The last days’ focus expanded to encompass security staff and auxiliary support personnel. Acknowledging their crucial role in healthcare settings, the workshop empowered them with insights, enlightening them about their rights and responsibilities as outlined in the legislation. This interaction proved instrumental in enhancing healthcare safety and bolstering the well-being of all stakeholders.
Throughout the workshop’s journey, a symphony of collaboration echoed, composed of the voices of change-makers and visionaries. This transformative initiative wasn’t just about legislation; it was about building bridges, fostering understanding, and cultivating a culture of safety within healthcare.
