Neha Farid is working at SZABIST as a Lecturer, Department of Biosciences, Faculty of Life Sciences. She has completed her Bachelors (Biosciences) and Masters (Biosciences) from Department of Biosciences, Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology (SZABIST).
She has several publications in international journals. She has presented her research piece of work at various National and International forums like Pakistan, Denmark, Spain, Malaysia, etc. She has been doing research work in the domains of Microbiology and Plant Tissue Culture. In the domain of Microbiology, she has been doing research to analyze the antimicrobial activity of the metabolites extracted from the medicinal plants such as Moringa oleifera, and determine the efficacy of the Efflux Pump Blockers in combination with the antibiotics on the various Multi-Drug Resistant Bacteria such as Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), Escherichia coli, etc. Along with it, she is also involved in the plant tissue culture of ornamental and medicinal plants such as Moringa oleifera.
She has also earned a number of honors and academic awards. She has been awarded academic medals for being the highest CGPA achiever in her Bachelors and Masters studies. She was also the Valedictorian in the SZABIST 15th Convocation held in 2018 as she scored the highest CGPA in the graduating batch. She has been awarded Walter Marget Educational Workshop Travel to attend the 36th Annual Meeting of the European Society for Paediatric Infectious Diseases in Malmö, Sweden. Along with it, she has also been nominated by the Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences for participation in the 70th Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting in Lindau, Germany (June 2020).
