Awareness session on Thalassaemia

Awareness session on Thalassaemia was organized by Life Science Research Centre, Faculty of Life Sciences on 14th May, 2024. Dr Saqib Hussain Ansari (Renowned Hematologist & CEO of Children’s Hospital Karachi) shared his insights about thalassemia.Thalassemia is an inherited blood disorder caused when the body doesn’t make enough of a protein called hemoglobin, an important part of red blood cells. Screening and testing reduce the risk of passing on thalassaemia to future generations. Dr. Syed Rahat Hussain (CEO of Omair Sana Foundation) also attended the event.
