Awareness session on HIV/AIDS, Breaking the Myths was organized by the Life Science Research Centre, Faculty of Life Sciences on 11th May, 2024. Dr. Sameera Haider Jalbani (Women medical officer, Communicable Diseases Control: HIV/AIDS, Sindh Health Department) shared her insights about HIV/AIDS and its treatment. Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) leads to Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS). HIV attacks and destroys the infection-fighting cells of the immune system. With proper screening, and medication, HIV infected individuals can lead a healthy life and can eliminate the risk of HIV transmission. Dr. Sikander Ali memon (Additional Director, Communicable Diseases Control: HIV/AIDS, Sindh Health Department) also attended the event.
