SZABIST Enters Into Partnership With OPEN Karachi
SZABIST Karachi, signed an MoU on 5th July 2012 with Karachi Chapter of OPEN (Organization of Pakistani Entrepreneurs of North America).
OPEN is a voluntary not-for-profit association dedicated to the promotion of entrepreneurship within the Pakistani-American community. Founded in 1998 by a group of Pakistani-American entrepreneurs and corporate executives, OPEN has chapters in a number of cities in the U.S.
SZABIST is the first educational institution in Pakistan to partner with OPEN. Through this partnership, SZABIST Karachi and OPEN will jointly promote entrepreneurship and innovation among SZABIST students. OPEN Karachi, through a series of seminars, workshops, personality assessment and mentoring sessions, will expose our students to a variety of professional and self-development opportunities. Mr. Fahad Zuberi and Ms. Subeika Rizvi would be the focal persons from SZABIST Karachi, in working with OPEN Karachi Chapter.
In order to initiate this collaboration, Ms. Erum Khan, Manager Executive Development Center (EDC) of SZABIST organized an OPEN-SZABIST seminar on “Build your Career through MBTI: The 2S Approach”, conducted by Dr. Qamar ul Hassan – a seasoned trainer and certified MBTI practitioner and a leading expert on “Personality type and Type Based Applications” in Pakistan.
Dr. Saqib Rizavi – President SZABIST, opened the session with a welcome note, and invited Dr. Zakiuddin Ahmed – President OPEN Karachi to initiate and proceed with the seminar. After a brief introduction to OPEN, Dr. Qamar ul Hassan conducted the well attended and highly interactive seminar/workshop.
There are plans of continuing to hold such resource training/development events to engender the spirit of entrepreneurship in SZABIST and in Pakistan.
