SZABIST Hosted a Distinguished Lecture on, "India-Pakistan Relations: Trends and Prospects"
SZABIST hosted a distinguished Lecture on India-Pakistan Relations: Trends and Prospects on February 6, 2014 at SZABIST, 90 Clifton. Speaker for the session was Dr. T.C.A. Raghavan, High Commissioner of India to Pakistan.
Madam Shahnaz Wazir Ali, Acting President SZABIST welcomed the Chief Guest Dr. T.C.A. Raghavan for taking out his valuable time to apprise the students about his views on India-Pakistan Relations.
Chief Guest Dr. Raghavan, High Commissioner of India to Pakistan thanked SZABIST for giving him the opportunity to be with the students, faculty and staff of such a prestigious Institute".
He highlighted upon issues during the periods, 1950's, 1979 and 1990 to present. He especially spoke about the India-Pakistan economic relations with respect to technology, trade and travel. He spoke about the change in social media networks and cyber security and said that technology has improved greatly and is the most important factor and the best mode for people to communicate with, he also informed the audience that trade has dramatically transformed the relationship between India and Pakistan. Dr. Raghavan further highlighted the need for much more trading activities and resolutions of trade issues between Indian and Pakistan which is essential to build good relations.
Dr. Amanat Ali Jalbani Vice President (Academics), SZABIST thanked to the High Commissioner for the thought for provoking lecture that highlighted the main issues which need to be addressed.
Madam Shahnaz Wazir Ali, Acting President SZABIST presented Plaque and flowers to the Chief Guest as a token of appreciation. The lecture was well attended by SZABIST management, faculty, staff, students and media and was concluded with the question answer session followed by high-tea.
