The News Education Expo 2012 (June 9-10)

14th National Conference on History and War

Thousands of students, educationists and parents thronged the Expo Centre on Saturday where The News Education Expo 2012 kicked off, offering bright prospects of acquiring education in local and international institutions.

The two-day expo, inaugurated by Sindh’s Senior Minister for education and literacy, Pir Mazhar-ul-Haq, is a yearly event organised by the Jang Group and has now become the biggest event on the education calendar in the country. Over 70 stalls, including SZABIST and those of international universities, were set up at the eagerly anticipated event, the fourth in as many years.

On his visit of SZABISTs stall, the Education Minister appreciated SZABIST for its presence and also praised its initiatives on the academic and research side among others. He said, “SZABIST has fulfilled the vision of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto to spread the light of literacy and is no doubt one of the best educational institutes in Pakistan”.

The Marketing Dept collaborated with faculties from Bio Sciences, Mechatronics, Media Sciences, and Social Sciences as well as the Admissions Dept in SZABIST, for this event. Students from all these faculties were also coordinated with, for an experiential campaigning within the expo halls.

The exhibition drew thousands of students from all over the city, and as Jang/The News quotes, ‘for many believe, the fair will leave them with a clearer perspective about their future prospects’.
