The SZABIST Center for Management and Development (CMD) is located at SZABIST, 100 Clifton, Karachi, and has the following objectives:

• To study the development and management issues within the corporate sector and  governmental / non-governmental organizations. 

• To explore the issues in selected areas, conduct in-depth surveys and studies, and propose recommendations.

• To provide consultancy services to multinationals and international organizations, including government and non-governmental organizations, within and outside Pakistan. 

The SZABIST CMD management consultants and research scholars are trained in providing consultancy and performing research using state-of-the-art computational methods, tools, and facilities available at SZABIST.

The Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology (SZABIST) is a fully Chartered Institute established through a Legislative Act of the Sindh Assembly (Sindh Act No. XI of 1995) and is approved and recognized by Higher Education Commission (HEC)  as a degree granting institution. SZABIST is a registered member of the International Association of Universities (IAU), Paris; Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), London; Federation of the Universities of Islamic World (FUIW) Rabat; Asia University Federation (AUF), Seoul; and the Association of SAARC Universities (ASU).

SZABIST CMD manages its work using the expertise of research scholars, resource persons, management consultants and qualified faculty members at SZABIST Karachi and Islamabad, and other cities of Pakistan.Senior faculty are already conducting research in and selected areas through the supervision of MS / PhD post-graduate students at Karachi in the form of independent studies, thesis and dissertations. SZABIST CMD also has a large data bank of experienced researchers and consultants renowned in relevant fields.

SZABIST library has a large collection of books, reports, journals, magazines, newspapers, and online databanks, which are useful for study and analysis of research reports. SZABIST laboratories have licensed and state-of-the-art software as per users requirements. There are also over 200PCs interconnected to the web with print and scan facilities. All SZABIST researchers and resource persons have full Internet and e-mail connectivity. SZABIST operates its own ISP, ZabNet, with a bandwidth of over 3Mb connected to the Internet backbone directly through fiber optics and satellite connectivity.

A 200 seating capacity fully air conditioned auditorium, a 50 seating capacity seminar room and a 20 seating capacity SZABIST Executive Development Training Center with full multi-media support in addition to over 20 discussion rooms are available at SZABIST to hold conferences, seminars and highly interactive group discussions.

SZABIST publishes all reports through its own Publication Division and through its online ‘Journal of Independent Studies and Research’ (JISR).
